Song Lyric Sunday: Excruciating

The prompt for Song Lyric Sunday from Jim Adams is Anguish/Misery/Torment.
The song must contain one of these words in either the title or the lyrics.

Hope your language skills are up for this one because this week I’ve chosen Un Autre Soir Ennuyant by Belton Richard. This is a beautiful and heartfelt song about the anguish, misery, and torment of loneliness.

The prompt words aren’t mentioned in the English translation and my Cajun French is nowhere near good enough to confidently say they appear in the original lyrics. But it doesn’t matter, this mournful ditty will smother you in anguish, roll you in misery and torment you to the end of your days. Enjoy!

Un Autre Soir Ennuyant – Cajun Lyrics
Un autre soir ennuyant
Quand toi t’es pas la
Les larmes tombe dans mon coeur
C’est ca qui m’fait peur
Un autre soir ennuyant

Le soleil apres s’coucher
Et toi t’es pa la
Les etoiles a pas briller
Et moi je vais pleurer
Un autre soir ennuyant

Un autre soir ennuyant
Et toi t’es pas la
Les larmes tombe dans mon coeur
C’est ca qui m’fait peur
Un autre soir ennuyant

Le soleil apres s’coucher
Et moi j’vais m’ennuyer
Les etoiles a pas briller
Et mois je vais pleurer
Un autre soir ennuyant

Another Lonely Night – English Lyrics
Another sleepless night,
I sit alone and cry,
Twilight time ’til dawn,
Memories linger on,
Since we said goodbye.

Throughout that sleepless night,
No matter what I do,
You’re always on my mind,
And though you’re gone I find,
I’m still in love with you.

Shadows fall, and I recall,
The love that you once had for me.
Miss you so, when lights are low,
I think of things that use to be.

You’re always in my heart,
Although you’re out of sight,
Lonely teardrops burn,
As I toss and turn,
Another sleepless night.

Although you’re out of sight,
Lonely teardrops burn,
As I toss and turn,
Another sleepless night.
